Katy Acres Farm, LLC is a private horse barn and entertainment facility.
The building will be used for family and guest gatherings and horse riding activities.
Because of the difficult nature of the site and the necessity of a clear span structure
,post-frame construction was preferred over steel.

Schmidt Horse Barn, built for Anne Schmidt, has a main building to house a
riding arena and stall barn. It also has entertainment quarters, observation rooms
into the foaling stalls, wash stalls and grooming area, full bath and custom
walnut raised panel tack room. Once the builder started working with this
customer, post-frame was the only type of construction considered.
The ease
and speed of construction, the level of custom options and the timeline
contributed to the choice of post-frame. The customer wanted the living quarters
to be energy-efficient. Post-frame construction allowed high R-values and easy
finishing of the interior spaces.
